The Discovery will have you looking fashionable and turning heads. View larger. | Comfort and Crisp Sound for Your Ear Measuring 2.7 x 1.0 x 0.9 inches and weighing a mere 0.3 ounces, you'll barely know that the Discovery 925 is in your ear. But with its striking onyx-black and silver color combination and minimalist features, this one-of-a-kind earpiece will surely get you noticed--in a good way. (The earpiece is also available in alchemy-gold and cerise-pink). The Discovery 925 is designed to follow the contours of your cheek. It features a filtered glass bead that's been blasted and anodized for a ceramic high-gloss elegant finish. The ultra-lightweight design offers a secure comfortable fit so you can stay connected hands-free for hours. And the earpiece includes three uniquely shaped gel eartips--small, medium and large--that are designed to conform snugly to the contours of your ear without the need for an earloop stabilizer, so nothing will interfere with earrings or eyewear. Once you place the earpiece into your ear, making calls is as simple as it gets. It has a multi-function button on the diamond-shaped face that powers the device, dials or releases calls, triggers voice dialing, or kicks the earpiece into pairing mode. A second button lets you control the volume. For voice clarity, a 1.9-inch boom brings the microphone closer to your mouth to reduce background noise as you talk. The boom mic also houses the earpiece's antenna. And finally, a micro-USB port is located on the side of the earpiece for charging. AudioIQ Noise Control and On-the-Go Charging The Discovery 925 features AudioIQ technology that blocks out annoying background noise in most situations, giving you clear calls every time. The earpiece lets you roam up to 33 feet from your Bluetooth phone and it supports multipoint technology, which allows two Bluetooth devices to be paired to the earpiece. This means you can receive and make calls from two of your phones without having to switch earpieces. The Discovery 925 runs on a rechargeable lithium ion battery that gives you up to five hours of talk time and up to seven days of standby time from a single charge. And when the earpiece is not in use, you can store it in its unique color-coordinated case, which performs double duty with its sturdy but stylish construction and its integrated rechargeable battery. Not only will the case protect the earpiece from everyday hazards, but it will also keep your earpiece charged. Simply charge the case directly with the included AC charger or USB cable--with or without the earpiece in place--and when fully charged, it will have enough power provide your earpiece up to five hours of talk time for when you need it. Of course you can still charge the ear piece directly with the AC charger, but with this convenient recharging case, you don't have to worry about your earpiece running out of power while you're on the go. Just place your earpiece in the case, and safely store it in your handbag or briefcase. When you're ready to use it again, it will be fully charged with enough power for up to five hours of talk time. The Discovery 925 is backed by a Plantronics 1-year limited warranty. What's in the Box Bluetooth earpiece, charging case, AC charger, USB cable, and three eartips (S, M, L).

Great headset but what to do with charging dock July 4, 2008 John Puhoff (California, USA) I just bought and I was amazed how light it is. I can barely feel it in my ear unlike jabra ones where you put it in the ear and have a feeling that you just lost one. This headset is perfect for me and people on the phone don't even know that i'm talking on the headset. The only downside is the charging station. I was hoping that is has some sort of belt clip on but instead I have to keep it in my pocket. (Maybe an idea for future development of charging docks).
No More Roll Over Minutes for Me July 2, 2008 Vesta Irene (the Pacific Northwest) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
First off set up was easy peasy, anybody whose every put a finger to a keyboard or dialed a number on a cellphone can do it. Almost plug and play, every bit as easy to set up as taking a picture with you cell phone or digital camera. My husband and I each got one of these, I got a black one to review and he bought a pink one and we traded. Why would we want two? Simple he gets lost a lot. I swear the second we go into a supermarket, he's gone. I'll wander the aisles forever, but he's on the move too. A flee market, I could be there till the cows come home. Yes, we both have cell phones, but he's always leaving his at home or in the car. But not anymore. He's hooked on having me in his ear. We have a family plan so we can talk to each other for free and on top of that I've got almost eleven thousand roll over minutes. Can you tell we don't talk to much on our cells? After we paired our phones to the appropriate earpieces we went to Target. I called him right after we pulled into our parking space and there he was in my ear. Standing next to him was a bit strange, because our voices have to travel to the nearest cell and back to get into each other's ear, so there is about a half second lag, creating like an echo effect and it's really strange when I can see him, because his lips don't quite match what I'm hearing, but once he's out of sight, over in tools while I'm in towels, that's when these babies really do their job. I can walk along, wander the store, even go outside and we're still talking, or not, but we're connected. And I'm very, very impressed We use these a lot now, love them. And with that family plan, well no charge, no minutes racing away. Plus, I talk to my daughter a lot. I used to have a whole gang of rollover minutes. Not anymore, those minutes did race away. Gotta up my plan. Still I love this earpiece. Reviewed by Vesta Irene, Number One fan of Ken Douglas, writer of Tangerine Dream, Desperation Moon & Running Scared.
Talking Up a Storm July 2, 2008 Ken Douglas (The Coast) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I must admit I was a bit dubious at first. This earpiece, attractive as it is, is about the size of my little finger and weighs a whole heck of a lot less. Plus, it had to be complicated. Maybe not for the ordinary person, but I'd only been a member of the cellphone generation for a few months. And then there is the crazy person factor to consider. You know what I mean, you see them in the bar and the stores and the parks and the parking lots, in big buildings and small, you see them everywhere, these people who seem to be talking to themselves, sometimes even shouting to themselves. Did I really want anybody to think I was one of them. Maybe, we've been in the new Millennium for eight years now, so what the heck, I got a cell phone, why not step all the way into the future. But could I do it? Could I figure out how to set this baby up, or was I going to have to go to the AT&T store and have the nice people there do it for me? First things first, after I opened the box that came from Amazon, I found the earpiece enclosed in an attractive plastic, bubble enclosure, however, unlike so many of the things you buy these days, from Star Wars figures to lipstick, all I had to do to get the gizmo out of the wrap was to pull off a small piece of clear tape and everything unpacked nicely, no steak knifes, scissors and razor blades needed. Out of the box, I read the first couple of pages of the manual, pushed the center button on the earpiece, set my Razor cell phone to settings, clicked on the Bluetooth simple, clicked on hands free, entered the super secret four number code of 0000 that manuel said to enter and son of gun, that's all there was to it. No call to tech support, no going to the AT&T store, no hair pulling, lip biting or swearing. So how does it work? Like a treat. I drive hands free, talk to my friends when I'm on my long walks, talk to my editor when I'm shopping and you know what, one thing I've learned is you don't have to shout. Normal talking works fine when you're outside and inside you can even whisper and the other party hears just fine. And I hear fine too. I've only had this goody for a couple weeks now, but I don't know how I ever lived without it. When I first got my cell phone it wasn't a big deal, I hardly used it, thought of it as something I'd only use in an emergency, but I'm talking up a storm now and enjoying every minute of it. Moving in a New Direction June 29, 2008 R. Thomasson (Kansas) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been a big fan of Plantronics products for some time. They make a-lot of commercial communication equipment for aviation, dispatching, etc. and I've used some of them in those capacities. The kind of commitment to quality it takes to maintain those markets shows up strongly in their Bluetooth Headsets. I had been using their "Voyager 510" Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset with Multipoint Technology [Retail Packaged] headset for a year and have never had a single complaint. When asked to review this product, I thought it would be hard to live up to the Voyager's performance, but the "Discovery 925" handled it with ease. This is a new idea in Bluetooth headsets. It is ultra light, sharp looking and meant to be worn for extended periods without discomfort. For the first time in my experience there is no "over the ear" sling or hard "loop" to snag on your hair, jewelry or rub your ear the wrong way. The 925 fits inside your ear and at about 1/3 of an ounce, you hardly know it's there. It comes with three sizes of gel eartips that I would think would fit just about everyone. The mic boom is contoured to follow the curve of your cheek. I am a very large man and this headset fits me like a glove. I also had my much smaller friend try it (with a different eartip) and it fit her equally as well. The ease of connection and sound quality is pure Plantronics. If you've used their Bluetooth headsets before and liked them, the 925 will not disappoint. If you're new to Plantronics, I would suggest giving them a try. They tend to cost a bit more, but in this case you really do get what you pay for.
