Product Description The LG KG800 mobile phone is better known to many people as the Chocolate phone. Don't bother looking for any hidden meaning - quite simply, it's bar-shaped and the best-selling version in South Korea is a dark brown chocolate colour! And the LG KG800 certainly is a best-seller in its home country. It's become a favourite phone for the rich and famous, appearing in the hand (and pocket) of top celebs. Why? Well, the phone cleverly blends modern styling with useful features. When the slide-up design is closed, you'll notice a high-quality display screen and a handful of touch-sensitive keys for controlling essential functions. They glow red when they're being used and fade into the background when they're not needed. Slide the phone open and there's a standard keypad, along with a wealth of useful functions including an alarm clock, calendar, calculator, photo editor and games. The LG KG800 is also an MP3 player, with 128MB of memory providing plenty of storage space. In addition, the back of the phone contains a 1.3 megapixel camera for photos and videos. All this and Bluetooth connectivity as well. If you're looking for stand-out style without compromising on usability, you'll appreciate the LG Chocolate KG800. It certainly is a tasty little camera phone! Network Frequency Triband : 900/1800/1900 Mhz Will Not work on Cingular 850 Mhz
Amazon.com Product Description Sink your teeth into the luxury and innovation of the Chocolate KG800 by LG. With its minimalist-inspired style and silky-smooth slide design, the Chocolate offers a rich array of features that include a glowing, touch-sensitive keypad, a superlative music/video player, a luxurious 1.3 megapixel camera/camcorder, and Bluetooth capabilities. If you value extreme style mixed with powerful substance, this is the phone for you.
Sleek lines and a luscious design make the KG800 the hottest thing you can put in your pocket (black version shown). | Design The LG KG800 is entirely about fashion, convenience, and usability. The ultra-thin, stylish slider design always keeps the unobtrusive internal antenna safely tucked away-- always protected from snags or breaking. The touch-sensitive navigation keys are hidden when inactive, a key feature to save battery life, or when keeping a low profile is a must. A unique touch protection feature is built right into the phone--preventing unwanted key actions. In an effort to always keep things looking fashionable, the 176 x 220 pixel screen boasts over 260,00 colors. The user interface provides for clear images and text, and there are wallpapers with fun animations, as well. Other design features include a 1.3-megapixel camera, which is housed on the rear of the phone. To keep the user interface looking clean and tidy, the left edge of the handset sports the volume buttons, while the right side houses the end call key, media key, and a covered USB 1.1 interface. The phone includes 128 MB of shared internal memory. Calling Features The Chocolate boasts powerful calling functions, such as speaker independent voice dialing, which makes it easy to call contacts by simply saying their names. No prior voice training is required and you can even speak individual digits to the phone for quick dialing of numbers you know by heart. And because the Chocolate is Bluetooth enabled, wireless headsets can be configured with the phone for total handsfree operation.
Need to make a call? Just slide it open. | Messaging, Internet and Tools The phone's support for multimedia messaging means that text, photos, video and audio can be sent with ease. When used in combination with the Chocolate's built-in camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. The built in MMS editor allows the user to create convenient messaging templates for fast MMS messages, as well as the usual ability to create SMS messaging templates. And to make messaging even easier on the KG800, the phone comes stock with built-in T9 text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets--a definite plus for mobile email and text messaging users. A number of handy software tools are bundled with the Chocolate including a calendar, an alarm clock, a calculator, a stopwatch timer, a digital note pad, and a vibrating alert alarm. Imaging and Entertainment The KG800 arrives Java enabled, allowing you to play the latest games--a requisite for any high-end fashion phone. The KG800 even comes stock with embedded games, and of course, more games can always be downloaded from the web and loaded onto the phone via the KG800's convenient USB connection port. Into taking pictures or carrying your music with you everywhere? The Chocolate's 1.3-megapixel digital camera features a flash, a 4x digital zoom, a multi shot mode, and a photo album feature. The camera also offers up to one-hour of video capture. When it's time for music, the Chocolate boasts a built-in music player with stereo speakers and an equalizer, offering MP3 and WMA playback, a feature which lets you keep your music playing in the background while during a call. You can also take advantage of the Chocolate's Bluetooth wireless headset capability, allowing you to hook up a pair of Bluetooth stereo headphones. Vital Statistics The LG KG800 Chocolate weighs just 2.93 ounces and measures 3.74 x 1.89 x 0.59 inches. The lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 6 hours of digital talk time, and up to 200 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the GSM 900/1800/1900 frequencies. The phone comes with a one-year limited warranty.

currently have the phone February 9, 2008 M. French I have this phone now.I recently purchased it off on ebay.I bought it for the looks and the sleek design. It was working well for a while, then it kept on dropping my calls and it would freeze up on me.I realized that it was the software causing all this trouble. Now I have a purchase a new phone.I am not satisfied with this phone.I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone.
LGKG800 December 6, 2007 Fz Al-aufy (OM) The phone is quite a nice basic phone but has two main problems, when it gets humid the screen flips to different screens and could be quit irritating and the 2nd problem is the battery, it wears off within 4-5 months and make sure that your fingers a very dry before you use the touch pad otherwise you could end up tossing it out of the window.

Not good in US January 7, 2007 James Mcintyre (NYC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had this phone in NYC area for about 3 months now. My wife has Cingular (RAZR) and I was going to get that phone as well, but then saw this one available at the Cingular store and figured I would get it for the looks, and Cingular said they support the phone so I thought all would be good. After using it for 3 months, I lose service in A LOT of areas around here, and my wife's phone works fine. I guess it is b/c of all this 1900, 850, 900 band issues. If I knew about this problem before purchasing the phone with a 2 year contract, I would definitely have gotten a different model instead. Also, I just went on a trip up to northern Vermont, and my wife's phone never dropped a call or lost service (Cingular), and I had no service for the whole trip (Cingular), which was very frustrating trying to do business from the road. I was thinking of getting the battery signal increaser metal strip, but after reading more about the phone, I do not think they will help any?? If anyone has any suggestions for me to get a better signal, I would appreciate it, as I have paid a lot for this phone that loses a lot of calls daily.
