Worst phone I've ever owned. March 27, 2010 J. Ebbe (Milwaukee, WI) Phone worked fine for two months (though I didn't find out until afterwards that it wasn't sending/receiving picture and video texts. After two months no phone calls in or out 90% of the time, if they did happen to work they were dropped within 10 seconds.
I needed to replace a phone without a warranty without a new contract, so the price was ok, but since it doesn't have a warranty or any accountability I was kind of screwed. I will definitely do everything in my power to not buy an unlocked unwarrantied phone again.
Stylish phone with no frills. February 8, 2010 A. Chan I recently ordered this phone as a replacement. I honestly didn't like any of the current phones that major network carriers carry in their lineup. Also I did not want to cough up the money for an expensive smart phone with an even more expensive data plan. All I wanted was a basic phone that did what it was good at: make telephone calls. This phone has excellent audio and voice quality. The design is also very sleek and modern which makes it easy to carry. The only qualm I have about this phone is the lack of T9 text function, the predictive text software that comes with the phone is terrible and extremely slow therefore it really becomes difficult to text effectively. The phone does come with a FM transmitter but it's not something I use so I can't comment on that function.
The version that I got has what it seems like to be Russian alphabetic letters on the keys, which is somewhat confusing at first, but it somewhat ads to the style of the phone and I don't really mind it. Overall I would recommend this phone to anyone who is just looking for a basic, quality phone piece for voice calls.
SLVR L9 January 21, 2010 Patrick (Dublin Irl, CA and MO.) Good phone. Not sure if battery life really is what is claimed regarding talk time, but it is decent. Menu is as expected from Motorola, not logical like a Nokia, but that's what you have to expect from Motorola and better than older models I've had in the distant past. The keypad is very slow, i.e. slow response, so be patient. But it looks good and really is reliable. Phone received with russian instructions but was able to download english version easly from a google search. Had this russian moto menu item appear but was able to turn it off, but you have to do this everytime you switch sim cards. call quality is very clear. Signal is strong, which was the main reason I purchased this phone.
