Product Description
Wirelessly charges up to 3 Powermat-enabled devices simultaneously (plus one USB power port). Works with all Powermat receivers. Universal Powercube with 8 tips is included to enable you to charge hundreds of different devices.

Amazon.com Product Description
The Powermat Home and Office mat is a slim, sleek charging mat for home or office. What's a charging mat, you ask? Good question. Powermat's Wireless Charging System offers a clean, simple way to keep all those personal electronic devices charged, without a mess of cables. With the Powermat system, you choose a mat and then choose the receivers to match the devices you want to charge. Each mat includes a Universal Powercube receiver that allows you to charge hundreds of devices. You can also purchase receivers custom designed to fit on your devices, so you never need to remove them to use your device.

The Powermat Wireless Charging System provides a simple, fast and efficient way to keep all of your favorite personal electronic devices charged. Click to enlarge.

The Powermat Wireless Charging System

Wireless Charging
Connect your devices to Powermat Receivers, and simply drop them on the Powermat to charge wirelessly, as fast or faster than the stock power adaptor. A unique sound lets you know a solid connection has been made (an additional sound is heard when you remove your device--both are adjustable and can be turned off), and an indicator light--also adjustable--is displayed while a device is charging.

Use Only What You Need
Communication between the Powermat and Receivers allows the mat to give exactly enough power for exactly the right time. When a device is fully charged, power is shut off to that device, so no energy is wasted. If a device is used while on the mat, the system knows it--charging starts up again until you've got a full charge.

Wired USB Connection
For legacy USB devices, or a quick charge while all your Receivers are in use, Powermats also feature a wired USB connection. It may not be wireless, but it's better than finding another free power outlet.

Slick Design
Industrial design is key for personal electronics, and the Powermat appropriately follows suit. The Home and Office Mat features a minimal curved design that will work in most any environment, while the fold-up Portable Mat looks sharp and stows away simply for travel.

Powermat custom Receivers are like a second skin for the device they charge, enabling access to all controls and keeping the design clean and simple. Receivers are available for iPods and iPhones, Nintendo DS, various Blackberry models, and more.

So How Does It Work?
Powermat utilizes principles of magnetic induction combined with Powermat proprietary patent-pending technology to safely and effectively provide power to electronic devices. Powermat transforms surfaces including walls, tables, floors and desktops into safe, simple, and efficient conductors of energy. It replaces the need to access multiple electrical sockets for real-time powering and charging of electronic devices. Neat, huh?

2 out of 5 stars Its great, if all you have is an iphone, blackberry and/or nintendo DS   March 8, 2010
Thomas S. (The Real LA, on the South Coast)
those 3 devices are the ones shown on the commercial, and those 3 devices have the special adapters made for them so you only drop the device on the mat and it starts charging.

For everything else, its a waste of money and doesn't work, because you are STILL USING A CORD. For everything else you must use the powermate universal adapter cord, which you set on the mat, and then plug it's cable end into your device.

So whats the point of that? If I still have to plug something into the bottom of my LG cell phone every time I want to charge it, I'm not getting a darn bit of benefit other than having spent $100 for a $10 charger.

SO, if you have several iphone/ipod touch devices, some blackberries and nintendo-ds devices, yes, this is a great charger.

But for 95% of the rest of the world that has other cell phones, for example, this device does almost nothing for you. You would be better off getting a slim powerstrip with multiple outlets and using your device chargers. Same amount of connectivity, at a 95% discount from the powermat.

This thing will be good and useful if and when they produce batteries/doors for all major cell phone models out there.

Here's a thought... license the technology to the handset makers...

1 out of 5 stars How does the FTC let the crooks sell this thing?   March 6, 2010

It doesn't remotely do anything it says -- the picture is misleading, the title is misleading, the concept is misleading. If you purchase additional receivers and attach them to your phone, then they will charge. Basically this is a sorta-cool looking but way-too-big multi functioning charger that is about as wireless as a showerhead. You can read the all the packaging and still not figure it out -- until you open it up, of course.

1 out of 5 stars This product is false advertising   February 15, 2010

I bought this product because it leads you to believe you will just place your phone or whatever on top of the mat - cool right! WRONG, you need to buy additional cables PLUS you have to plug your phone or device into another little widget AND connect that again, = MORE CORDS. I set mine all up and it didn;t even work after all that. SHAME on you Powermat - this is a B.S. product that does not do what it says it does. G.S.

4 out of 5 stars pretty neat... not yet the greatist   February 11, 2010

There are diffrent plugs that don't fit in the case they give you to go with it... and the pad only hold up to three devises and you have to be sure to place exactly where the magnetic part is.. or it won't charg. Over all... it's cool...

4 out of 5 stars No more cords   February 11, 2010
